Day time to night-time symmetrical image fade

The image shown on this page is an example of the ultimate Day to Night translight. It was produced by commissioning us to shoot – in perfect symmetry – daytime and nighttime location photography of the scene. After some manipulation and skilful Photoshop work, the two images were triple printed on the front face of “Samba” or “Mambo” in perfect registration which enabled it to be lit from front or back, creating that magic moment when day turns to night.

Computer manipulated day to night translights

The Day to Night translight shown on this page was achieved by computer manipulation of an image originally created by joining together several high resolution scans of 10″ x 8″ transparencies taken in daylight. After extensive Photoshop work was carried out to create the nighttime version, the day and night versions were then triple printed on the front face of “Samba” or “Mambo” in perfect registration to enable it to be lit from the front or back creating that magic moment when day turns to night.
